    New DCB

I have a new 18mo DCB who started Monday. He was at his grandmas daycare with his older brother who is now in school, so technically his first daycare away from family. Obviously a difficult transistion for him!
Well, today I found that he can and has been climbing INTO his PnP (he has a blankie from home we keep in there) during playtime. I have a large walkout basement which is my daycare and one corner section is the sleeping area.
What should I do? It's obviously comforting for him, but I don't want him to be in there all day OR for him to be sleeping too much and his parents think that I'm just putting him in there all day. WWYD?

Also, because he's been crying all day, I feel like he's not getting a chance to feel comforted by me because I'm wiping his nose 2-3 times every 5 mins and he HATES it- so I am constantly "the bad guy" wiping his poor nose not much I can do there, but I'm sure it adds to his being upset.

I'd just let him have the blanket. Security objects are just that--intended to offer security when parents can't. He's telling you he needs it now. Later, when he's more comfortable, he'll be able to set it down to play, but for now, I'd let him take the comfort where he can.

Maybe then you won't have to be "bad guy" so much with the tissue, too. :-)
