    toot your own horn

Spending all day telling Jane her picture is beautiful and complimenting Jack's block tower can be a little draining sometimes. Since the children are unlikely to start patting our backs over the lunch we made, let's give ourselves a little love. What do you rock at?

I build a mean train track. I mean,I put those tracks together like nobodies business so the little trains can zoom all over the playroom.

I make a pretty amazing cardboard box fort. Includes turrets, towers, multiple rooms, working windows/doors, secret doors ... you name it. Then once it's done just hand me some tempera paint and a couple of brushes and oooooweeee!! Even my husband is sad once the boxes get to the point where it's time to break them down ::

This is such a cute idea!

I can bring book characters to life like I'm a one woman show. And really, I'm starting to wonder why I don't have my own Broadway show by now

I can feed an infant, read a book to the toddlers & watch for the school bus all at the same time.

I can summon the UPS man by sheer will power alone.

All I have to do is get 6 toddlers to sleep, turn off the ringers on the phone and pop into the restroom for a minute.

          I have this skill mastered.

The kids DO cheer for my lunches though.

I can bust a move and make everyone dance. I LOVE music and I love to sing (albeit terribly). I'll rock out to the best of preschool mixed cd we have (itsy bitsy spider).

I am also amazing at getting a kids name to a song/rhyme so they learn to spell it. I have a 2yo who can spell her name because of my jam.

When leaving for a field trip I can get 6 kids prepped and ready to go, including potty, diaper changes, shoes... then out the door and buckled into the van in less time than it takes most of my dcp's to get out of my door and into their car with their ONE child

I sing everyone's name to the tune of B-I-N-G-O each time I write it on their papers. They all say "do me, do my song!" They catch on quick

For example "T-O-M-M-Y" and that's how we spell Tommy!

I'm great at getting kids to nap. All my kids enjoy naptime. I know how to set the "mood".

My son is AJ, so I do "first comes A and then comes J and that's how we spell AJ" ::

Longer ones are tricky, I just keep saying the letters and try to stay in tune, grouping letters together
                        "JO-NA-TH-A-N"...

I can get all my DCK's (16 months- 5yrs) laid down in the same room for nap AND asleep within 15 minutes.

.........with OUT me having to be present.

I am a very good preschool teacher. Almost every one of my daycare kids for the past 25 years has been placed in the advanced level of kindergarten (unless they have a special need).
