I will need to implement this policy from now on.

Du you mind sharing your wording for this policy and your withdrawal form?

I am so so sososososososososo did I say So sick of the let me come back, I made the wrong decision.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have had this happen.

        What I am doing now.

Family tells me, I am giving notice, my kid is going to go to preschool, here is 30 days. END OF STORY. YOU ARE DONE. I FILL SPOT THAT DAY/WEEK OF GETTING NOTICE.

Then family says a week later, I really can't decide what to do, I think I am jumping the gun and decided that I really want her to stay...

NO, sorry I have filled your spot. I can not run a business off of everyone waiting for what you think is the next best thing. Best of luck to you and your child.

I would just follow through with their first request. Get their request in writing and go off of that. DOn't play ping pong back and forth and let it become a game. TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU, I HAVE LET PARENTS COME BACK OR TAKE THEIR WORDS BACK ONLY FOR THEM TO LEAVE TO GO ON TO THE NEXT "BEST THING" AS SOON AS THEY THINK THEY FOUND IT.

I will definitely be following this from now on because I have definitely seen the same trend.

DCD picked up all 3 kids last night and says, "You have no idea how upset M was about everything - she cried the whole night not knowing what to do." I just and handed them their bags. They can definitely tell I'm very annoyed with their behavior - however, it really is my fault for allowing it.

            And the saga continues.

As of yesterday, the dcb was going to be at the private pre-k full time beginning today. Until the dcm drops off her two kids and hands me the withdrawal form with a few things crossed out and re-written.

One being his end date - now it is marked for 9/2. She says as she hands it to me, "Since we have to pay for this until 9/2, we are going to bring him after school from 3-5 until then."

I am not too sure how I feel about this. On one part I am mad that she crossed all that out without talking to me about it first, and that she assumed I would take him after school. And on the other part I feel like she's just trying to get out of paying his two weeks notice because she thinks I won't want to deal with him after school from 3-5 everyday. But apparently she's willing to leave work, drive across town, drop him off to me, and then go back to work all because of her last minute indecision.

As long as you are getting paid for the full final two weeks.

In the future, when parents need arrangements made for their child (as far as registration, transportation details etc) made, let them do it.

Don't jump through hoops to do any of that for a client. It is their responsibility to take care of that stuff....had mom been the one to jump through all those hoops, I bet she would not have been so indecisive about what she was going to do...kwim?

I am also betting that every time the pre-k program is closed for the day, she is going to expect you to fill in. If it were me, I wouldn't do that. Once a child leaves to attend another program for a majority of the day, I refuse to be the back up provider.

Sorry, this all happened to you. Parents will ALWAYS do what's best for them...regardless of what you did for them. It's just the way it is.
