    Before And After School Care

    I am taking a leap.......

I am allowing one of my DCKs who is starting kinder to stay with me. The child will only come after school, not before.

I dont have a PHB/Contract or Policies for this age group and so far these are the only things that I have come up with.

    1. If child is too sick to go to school, they can't come to DC
    2. If child is suspended for any reason child can not attend DC
    3. We do not offer homework assistance
    4. Client will pay full price for extended days of care during christmas, spring and winter break.
    5. I am implementing a full 30day trial.

What I can't figure out is that when children get older the price seems to go down? But when they get older, they require more supervision, eat more and use more supplies.

How do you ladies do this??? What else do I need to look out for?

Wise ones please tell me what I need to know.....

I wouldn't think you really have to add anything more than what you already have since the child/family has already been with you so they know the rules.

The only thing really changing is the fact that their time (the child's) with you each day is less since they are in school during the day.

What "time" of the day (in your regular routine) will the child be present for?

Afternoon snack and maybe outside or free play time?

In my b/a care sheet I also have .
I do not pick up child from school if they are sick or need to be picked up .
I do not pick up or bring to school if the child misses the bus .
I am not to be listed as emergency contact.

I also have that when schools close for inclement weather , those days are not guaranteed for a spot . They must call for availability like drop in care clients.
