One of my DCM's asked if I would be willing to take their 10 month old overnight. I have had this family for six years and am considering it, since I know them so well. I have no idea what to charge for an overnight though. For those of you who have taken kids overnight, what do you charge? I'm not sure if it varies by state, but I'm in MN.
How much to charge for 10 month old overnight?

There would be a lot of factors for me. For one thing check licensing because some states won't allow you to sleep when you have daycare kids. Then it would matter to me if child sleeps through the night and such. More work would cost more of course.- Flag

Normally you have submitted "business hours" to licensing and are not allowed to provide care outside those licensing hours.
I would first check with your licensor before agreeing to do this.
I had a child that was forgotten by the parent and was still on site after I closed. My licensor informed me at that time that I was ONLY allowed to provide care during my normal business hours and care outside of those hours was not allowed for regularly enrolled daycare children.
Instead of wait for the parent to show up, licensing had me call CPS
If it IS okay, I would charge at the very minimum 2.5 times my normal rate for something like that.- Flag

I charge $100 for overnights, up to 12 hours. After 12 hours, it's another $100. Every 12 hours, another $100. I don't want kids overnights, I don't want kids at all outside my regular hours, but if parents TRULY need me and I am available, I do it for this price, because any less doesn't feel worth it to me.- Flag

I do
I had kids twice overnight, and I charge $200 from 6pm (after daycare hours) to the next day until 2pm.
If you are lucky he will sleep thru the night but imagine if not! I don't want to charge less than that as I think my sleep is precious! If I don't sleep well I get cranky and impatient...- Flag

Also check the regs about where the child is allowed to sleep , it may be different from where a child is alllwed to nap . They may need a crib vs a pnp.- Flag
