    Newborn fussiness - Breastfeeding

How do you deal with a mom who eats super spicy foods or foods that she knows is going to make the newborn uncomfortable and irritable all day while she leave them with you?

Do you have a conversation with her? I get that it's her body and all but it's extremely frustrating to have her drop him off every couple of days saying I put gas drops in there because I ate jalapenos or white pepper chili last night and he will be extremely fussy. I get the feeling like she doesn't do this at home like Fridays or Saturdays.... she waits until he's going to be with me to make these type of meals.

I have told her several times in the past that I don't dispense over the counter medications and she's basically shrugs and continues to bring her kids with medications all the time.

Do you just endure the screaming glassiness without addressing it?

Honestly I wouldn't SAY anything to mom. I would, however, follow my illness policy to a T, which means not being able to dispense medication (including OTC "gas" drops) and calling mom for pick up if baby is screaming uncontrollably and clearly unwell.

      This ^^^

I refuse to allow a parent to make my job harder so theirs is easier.

This is HER baby, therefore if he requires additional attention due to her actions/choices that make caring for him during the day difficult, I wouldn't hesitate to call her for pick up.

wow...just wow. I breatfed all my babies a year, and I can't imagine doing that. The poor little thing.

I agree with treating it as an illness. If making her pick LO up is the only way to curb the behavior, do it. It is so not fair what she is doing to baby. Accidents happen, but this sounds purposeful.
