It has been a long time coming. Have had DCB for 7 years. Very bright nice kid. Is now the oldest, bored and a bit bossy. DCP's have become the biggest PITA's! Not sticking to schedule, letting DCB choose when he wants to come, never paying on time. I have been so done with them the last few months. I have held fast to my policies and not given them any breaks hoping they would come to the descision that they don't need as much childcare as they used to and that snowflake is aging out. DCB is a very spoiled, only child with wealthy parents....I have no problem holding them to their contract. Last month they didn't pick up their bill until the second bill of the month was due. DCM says DCD will take care of it. He was a bit unhappy and commentd "it's a good thing I have a job". Yes sir it is. They finally start the conversation through a text that says " DCB not coming today, will discuss with DCD about rest of summer and the upcoming school year. I texted back " I realize DCB is aging out of my program, we have enjoyed having him in nour DC family etc. etc.... and gave the choice to continue her contract at current rate, come as drop in at higher rate w/ no guarantee of availability or disenroll w/ 2 weeks notice. Her eyes bugged out at the $35 a day drop in rate (which is only $6 more than she is paying now) and gave two weeks notice all the while complaining about what she will do with him after school. I told her I'm sure it will all work out....sign here please! Thank you baby jesus only two more weeks. They have been with me a long time, I will miss DCB , but I am truly done with these parents and guided them to term peacefully...hopefully... send me good thoughts for the next two weeks!
Aging Out...Finally

It is a long run. I think about all the times the parents were late and he would have dinner with my family, we celebrated Birthdays, when he started kindergarten, helping him learn to read, DH teaching him to ride a bike. I am glad he is growing up, but honestly, these are the most thankless parents. In all those years DCD gave me two christmas bonuses, never a word of appreciation from either parent. Sometimes I feel like this is such a thankless job and other times I think some people are just plain rude and don't get it.- Flag
