The noise from the fire helicopters is deafening, but weirdly comforting. They are refilling their tanks across the street from me in the river.

I can't see the flames now in the bright sunlight, but the mountain was lit up like a Christmas tree before dawn this morning.

No evacuations right now, just warnings to be prepared.

Prayers much appreciated right now please!

It's hard to see the flames in the sunlight. This is the same ridge 10 minutes ago and right before dawn this morning (it's just gone noon here) It is still burning and not contained. The wind is taking up the mountain instead of down right now, which is good for us...but tragic for our beautiful canyon if they can't get it under control.

I would NOT start daycare on Monday unless they have it contained. These fires can get out of control VERY quickly.

All clear! The fire has gone up over the top of the mountain and crews are fighting it back there. We have been told that all alerts have been lifted for us and that we are safe. What a weekend it's been!

Sadly, there is a big black scar on the mountain now.
