    So...How Would You Handle This?

DCG, age 2.5 is fully trained while at my house, but she is only here 3 days per week. The rest of the time, Mom keeps her in diapers because Mom says she's not ready. She cries when they have her go on the potty at home. Because the crying worked, now when they try and don't give in immediately, she has a full blown tantrum. Sweet as pie at my house, no accidents.

It seems silly to keep taking her out of her diaper each morning, putting her in my dd old panties, and then having them take her home at night and tossing her back in a diaper. ON the other hand it seems ridiculous to be putting a potty trained kid in diapers.

I have had several talks with Mom and Dad and they won't budge. They told me to do what I wanted, but they would not put her in underwear at home. It's too stressful.

I would schedule a conference with the parents after hours. I would make it a conference because they may take it more seriously if you schedule the time outside of the day. I would point blank say,.. she is fully trained and your attitude is a complete surprise to me. Can you please tell me why you are wanting to put a potty learned child in diapers? how long do you expect to keep this up? I am providing underwear for her and doing all laundry, you are not helping me at all. If you choose to do this I require her to arrive in panties and leave in panties, after that do what you wish. But here she is one of our potty learned children and she is to arrive in underwear. Unless you want me to add an additional charge to change her from a diaper to underwear every morning.....

In other words MOM is LAZY and doesnt wanna deal with her baby crying, tantrums, etc so she gives her child her way and puts her in diapers. Its just SO sad the way some parents hold their children back these days and some parents are SO lazy. I think you need to have a meeting with them also and tell them that she is completey potty trained at your house and they need to throw the diapers away at home and take her to pick out some undies of her favortie charcter and that be it.
