    James.

James had issues, obviously. Parents were never together/one night stand. Dad was in prison for 2nd violent felony. In/out of his life. He had court ordered visitation with Dad (in PRISON) once/month. Mom had a slew of boyfriends in/out. She had daycare FT for during the day but worked evenings. Paternal grandmother did the majority of the pickups.

They spanked him for EVERYTHING. Their method of discipline was to laugh at him, occasionally warn him/sometimes not, then swat him when his behavior annoyed them.

He half lived with grandma/mom. Grandma had 5 children still living at home, and a couple grandchildren, too.

I had called cps on them once, they showed up, looked for food and said the claim was unfounded.

He needed to be supervised well. He NEVER cried, even when hurt which I really thought signaled abused or other major issues.

Anything else specific you want to know?

Gosh, looking back I can't believe I was just happy to have clients.

I've read 5000 posts in the last week for some research I'm doing and your post about this kid I had forgotten.

      Holy cripes.

See this is the kind of deal where I actually think I could snap on a kid. I don't know how you didn't.

Makes my heart RACE in panic just thinking about a kid biting my newborn son and me having to pry his teeth off.

      Deeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Breath..........

I seriously don't know what I would do.

As I said, I was shaking. It was very scary and I know my limits now better than ever before. EVERYONE has a limit, I never thought I would reach mine.

I often wonder about this kid. Among physical behaviors there was verbal (**** my ____) was said once. So was "My _igga" on repeat and so many others. He would be 11ish now, but I have no idea what happened to him.

Awww, that's so sad. I didn't read the original thread but from what was here I can get an idea. And while he obviously had problems, I can't help but feel badly for him. I hope he got some love and sense of security from you and from other adults in his life because it sounds like he didn't get any at home. These are the kind of kids I wish I could keep forever and "fix" because it's not their fault they were born to terrible parents. (Not that biting a newborn is OK in the least, but just looking at his situation...)

These are the kids I wonder about too.

I have this dream of being able to go to daycare providers of terrible criminals and interview them about how the kid was when they were birth to five. Wouldn't that be fascinating?

              That'd be interesting.

I wonder if that child had an attachment disorder of some sort.

My daughters kindergarten teacher predicted she'd be in jail one day. So far so good. She's 26.

                          I had a future sociopath/psychopath in care.

The mother was (is) a family therapist specializing in children's play therapy. ::

She tried to pay me more as "get out of jail free" option for her kid.

Shortly after I termed (child was 7 at the time) I heard reports that the child was caught trying to chop down the neighbors wooden swing set with a camping axe.

I still had the younger siblings in care and came to find out mom had been leaving older child at home and having grandparents "babysitting" via Skype.

There was one at a center where I worked- worst child I have ever encountered. Flat affect, zero remorse- wimpy little thing, but just mean, mean, mean. Kids twice his size were petrified of him. Parents were in denial, the center director made excuses. Myself and one other teacher "tried" to get him help, but the director shunned us. I do not see good things for this child's future. I think your idea is genius and would be riveting.

I wouldn't want to know if one of my kiddos grew up to be a psycho.
