Heard Back From Golden Mom - Shine Is Off?

So mom isn't sure but of course doesn't want to lose spots, aaaaaaand she now wants to know if she picks up the SA boy from school for a while instead if coming here (as originally planned) that will save money as well...

One of the reasons I was willing to give a break for Fridays during the summer was because I knew that come the Fall I would have a full house. Five FT kids (including two of hers) and two SA (one of hers)

At this point I want her to know that

    1. If they want the possibility of the spot come Fall, they need to pay for it as of 9/1. Otherwise I'll interview.

    2. If she picks up the SA kid from school to save money, fine. But I can't guarentee a spot for him if and when they want him to be here (and frankly if they decide down the road they want him here the answer would probably be a no as I've been phasing out SA care anyway)

So it's becoming..."Can we just do whatever we want to save money while you lose money in the process? But you won't mind at all because you love our kids and will gladly lose money for them. Of course we will be expecting our spots to be available if and when we decide to use them"

Exactly, and now I'm getting pissed. But I am going to make it clear that I'm not holding any spots without $.

Totally not fair on her part.

My worry would be that she tells you yes, save me the spot for Sept, then reneges when it comes time and you've missed out on a great opportunity to fill a one day a week spot (which is near impossible in my experience!)

            Yup

At this point you just need to do what is best for you. I wouldn't count on them or consider anything concrete. I would go with whichever client works better and has the money in hand. If golden family isn't so sure then I'd
            go with other family.

Seriously, what is wrong with parents? Why can't they realize that this is our paycheque? Sure as sh*t, if I didn't need the money, I would not be doing this (well except for one that I absolutely adore, ). I know that I could find a job else where, but I wouldn't get to pick and choose my hours or be home for my kids. Parents need to realize that daycare is our job and our business and that we need a steady income, just like they do.
