Is it wrong for me to have a pet peeve of a dcm who brings her baby having not fed or dressed said baby yet. Ugh! It's irritating! I fed and dressed my children before I took them to daycare. Instead I always get the oh I put an outfit in her bag and she hasn't ate yet.

I have felt the same way . What made it worse was the baby had not even had her diaper changed either , she had come in soaked through her pj"s .
I put a stop to that quickly . -
I would just say "Okay, but from now on you need to bring her dressed and fed." If she gives you a 'look' just say that it is too hard to change and feed everyone.
Personally, I serve breakfast but didn't when I first started. I got tired of kids coming in with half eaten breakfast bars or bananas squished in their hands or parents saying 'they just wouldn't eat this morning.' Plus at least it eliminates one source of tears for sure.

I serve the kids breakfast.....buutttt.......the mom's who will try and use that perk, and bring their child through the door screaming to eat, is just pushing it. And I say something. Ditto on the soaked through urine diapers

It's in my contrat that all kids must be changed, dressed, and ready for the day. if they arrive after 9, they must have eaten breakfast. I'm going to change that to 8 though.Comment

Oh, I've had the feeling she has been scooped right out of the crib without a diaper change loaded up and brought straight to me. �� To top it off dcm works from home.Comment

DCM works from home? That is outrageous. I don't understand why you wouldn't want a few quality minutes with your baby anyway, but ... Not even a changed diaper? Come on!Comment

I personally get the part about not eating before coming, if it's a baby (or obviously if you serve breakfast and they,the older kids, are there on time). Sometimes babies get up and eat in the middle of the night and aren't hungry when they get up. But that's just me and I don't mind feeding the babies. BUT not dressing them or changing them is uncalled for, especially if mom works from home.Comment

I have that in my policies but some parents obviously think their infants are exempt.
I had a baby that was dropped off around 8 and the last diaper change was 3 or 4 am. She had blow outs first thing in the morning all the time. I'd try to change her right away but didn't always have a chance.
Another baby would be dropped off around 8 and the last bottle would be 3 or 4 am. Obviously he was screaming to be fed within 15 min. Every morning I'd ask when he last ate, then say "Well, I'll bet you're hungry now then..." but the parents never got my hint.

I require parents to have all children fed prior to drop off. I allow one child to arrive in jammies and that's the four year old that has been with me for 2 years who is dropped off at six am and goes back to sleep. She changes her own clothes after breakfast.
All other children need to be dressed and ready/fed prior to drop off. As well as all diapered babies have to have a clean diaper.Comment

I was guilty of this BUT...
At first we always fed, and changed my ds before daycare but he always puked his whole bottle up once in his car seat so my daycare lady at the time told us to not fed him his morning bottle and to bring him in his pjs. She was the one who suggested it. I did have my daughter all ready to go tho each day! Once he stopped spitting up so much I got him ready at home prior to drop offs but I totally would just grab him out of bed and put him in the car seat in the beginning. 90% of the time he would sleep until we got there. :/Comment
