We do this, except with ornaments. We buy DD and the family an ornament each Christmas and when she gets married/has her first apartment we will give her the whole collection of her own ornaments. I try to make each one meaningful to what she did/was into that year (or near Christmas that year since she's only 3 and her interests change so fast). We'll be doing this for each and every kid we have.

i do that too! i get the hallmark ones bc they have the year stamped on them. tonight i noticed one missing from 2007 and when i asked my daughter where it was she said....in the trash! i was like what?! she thought she broke it bc the hook came off. i made her put on a glove and dig through the trash which was outside thank goodness - sure enough, there it was!

If he's a coffee or tea drinker I highly recommend the Keurig coffee maker. It makes awesome coffee using the little inserts. It's fun to be able to change what I'm drinking depending on my mood.
