Typical Day for a 5 Month Old?

Hi ladies! I have just started watching a 5 month old DCB who doesn't seem to be happy no matter what I do!!! This is the first infant I have had in my daycare in the past 5 yrs as I normally only take 2 yrs and up. So I realize that I'm not used to having babies, but all the 'normal' things that I remember doing when I had babies is not working. I would like to hear what a typical day for an infant this age looks like. I realize all babies are different but just a general schedule of what you do may help me. Thanks ladies!

When baby is on the floor, is he happy? Playing with toys? Do you have to interfere a lot due to baby screaming or crying? If so, how does this affect your other DC kids? Thanks for your feedback. Your schedule is almost exactly how I do here. My DCB doesn't seem to like ANYTHING! Not even being held.

She is just a really happy baby!! I think a lot has to do with her parents putting her on a schedule and not holding her constantly.
She plays by herself. The other kids play with her. She rarely cries... When she does, I'll sit her in my lap or hold her for a few min since I don't do either that often.

Now my nephew (who I don't watch) is almost 3 months old and is just a grumpy baby. No matter what I do he cries. He is on a flexible schedule but he doesn't just lay contently on the floor.

Have you asked how he is at home? What they do with him? I couldn't handle a baby that wasn't happy with 5 other children.

my 6m old usually has a bottle before arriving at 8:30, usually get her down for nap about 9:30-9:45. She will sleep 1-2 hours (if we are going out I wake her after an hour). Then plays, drinks bottle and is back to nap about 2-2.5 hours after she last woke up. I find at that age that is about their awake time limit and I tend to feed about a half hour after they wake up so they are not falling asleep when drinking the bottle.
