    In Too Much Pain to Clean Up

    Or so she says! Just venting a bit...5 year old came in with an ice pack. Mom said she had been crying all morning and to let me know if she needs to go home. I knew this was a put on just for mom. I took the ice pack and put it up as soon as mom left. Girl plays fine....building with pipes outside and not mentioning her neck except for 2 times. Both during clean up times! LOL Ya...like I was born yesterday. Mom keeps texting and asking about her. I told her exactly what happened.....she only complains at clean up time.

    Until now....she is complaining about "how much" pain she is in and being very dramatic. I went ahead and gave her the ice pack.....but I told her she needs to lay down very still with an ice pack :hug: and we went and did really fun stuff. She asked to join us...but I told her no, she is into much pain.

    This is reminding me of the over-praising thread I started earlier. This is the same girl. So.....please parents, let's lose the over dramatizing "injuries" and "owies". Just watch you kid. Don't keep bringing up the "owie" and giving to much attention to it......because your child will annoy every single person around her. If you child is playing well......your child is fine.

    If she's too hurt to clean up after playing she needs to go home! LOL that's part of participating in normal activities.

      If a child showed up like that I would have sent them right on to urgent care. And I would tell them I will not be accused of the injury happening on my watch. So if she is in that much pain you need to have it checked out first.
      It:: will wait

        You know, I understand parents not having specific knowledge of child development.
        But don't they remember being kids? Did they never try to pull anything on their parents? Do they remember ever trying to get out of going to school or something else they didn't want to do?

            She just got picked up. Got the ice pack out of her cubby and carried on to her dad. I told dad the same thing I told mom. He said he knows....she is "too tired" when it's time to clean her room. Mom even brought medicine for me to give her today.......I told her no....I don't give medicine.
