    Help me understand this

In the inclusion/exclusion Guidelines it states under two sections "until the primary care provider has determined that the illness is not an infectious disease"

    That means their doctor correct?

As far as my insurance goes, I know that primary care provider (PCP) is referring to the person's primary doctor.

      BUT...

In our regulations, primary care provider is referring to the licensee or the person who primarily watches the children in care.

I wouldn't consider a PCP to be a parent... usually that's simply referred to as the parent or guardian.

In the context of that sentence one would assume it means the child's doctor.

Who else can legally and rightfully determine "infectious"? kwim?

According to the Primary Care Provider = parent...NO illness/virus is infectious if it means excluding the child

According to the Primary Care Provider = daycare provider....ALL illnesses/viruses are infectious if it means inclusion of the child

they probably won't call me back to answer something like this. It is not their rule, it's the rules from academy of pediatrics

see that is what I think too. I can't determine when a child is or is NOT ill.

One would think that since this is an inclusion/exclusion guideline, that it would be pertaining to a Primary care physician, but it does not say those words anywhere.
