Anyone else familiar with this? Seems to happen around 2? Kid brings you everything they find that they feel is out of place. "Here." 5000 times a day as you get handed shoes, your own child's pajamas, markers, bits of whatever that they find on the floor.....drives me bananas. At least this one is putting things back when asked to.

I have one who is 15 months old who has been doing that for the last month. Everything she can find she brings to me and says "here mama". I found my own 4 year old ds playing what appeared to be fetch with her the other day. She would bring it, he would throw it across the room, she would bring it right back- Flag

I have a little one who repeats EVERYTHING. multiple times over and over and over and over all.day.long.
I think it is a huge stage for intellectual and language growth.- Flag

You're right--this one is doing a HUGE language explosion and is very much into repeating whatever gets said. especially if I'm scolding someone else. Or the dog.Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

Haha.....I've never heard it called that before but yeah, I deal with that. After about the 3000th time I'm like "yeah, put it back on the floor, I don't care!"- Flag

Yes, dcg who just turned 2(today) has been doing that. The problem is, half the stuff she brings is already where it is supposed to be. Either she doesn't think it is in the right spot, or she thinks I need it right then.- Flag

My 16 month old does this, but she only brings things that belong to the person it belongs to. Example, my coffee tumbler. It gets left in many spots throughout each day, she will bring it to me whenever she sees I don't have it. And my favorite blanket. And for dad, its the remote LOL Whenever it's not in his hand she hands it to him like it belongs there. She's also been known to bring "daddy sodas" which is hilariously adorable. *clears throat* You didn't hear that from me though.

Teach them to put it where it belongs. My 19 month old has been throwing trash away and putting toys in the bin and stuff for months. Teach them what to do with items besides handing things to you all day.- Flag

IN addition to the boy who just started the magpie-ing, I have the 1 yo who just learned to scream/screech/shriek.
Oh the unending joys of childcare...Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag
