Here it depends on the school. Within the same town some elementary schools do a K and 5th grade graduation, others do not. My oldest daughter did not graduate K or 5, just pre-K.

My 2nd daughter just graduated from K, although they called it an awards ceremony. No cap and gowns, but they all received a diploma/certificate for completing K. Plus pre-K last year, so she's already had 2 in 2 years

Sometimes I think parents around here just keep trying to one up each other. You start throwing in multiple graduations, and that is when it gets out of hand. At least here. Little Susie and Johnny are getting huge parties for graduating kindy ... and I don't want to go, please don't invite me ::

Reminds me of tonight at my son's t-ball game. We brought the first snack a few weeks ago. Goldfish and bottled water. Every parent since then has tried to one up the next. Tonight my son got a "gift bag" full of snacks and treats, complete with being wrapped It's t-ball people!

I think it depends on the area you are from. I am in my 40's. I graduated (and had ceremonies) in preschool, 5th, 8th, 12th grade, and then college. As we left one building to age up to the next building we had graduations. I lived in the same town from age 2 till I was 20.
