    Repeating..

I have a new 2.5 year old that is very verbal and she repeats me alot. For example when I'm reading a story to the group, she repeats my last word or two on every page. She also talks alot when looking at books. Both these things I think are great BUT at nap when she wakes up before others she also does this and isnt understanding quiet so it wakes everyone up. If I tell her shhh quiet - she repeats me loudly.

    Any tips?

Keep whispering. If she gets loud whisper that if she wakes up the sleeping kids she will be sitting a time out. Don't let her have books before others wake up or take them away if she starts talking loudly. During non-nap times teach everyone how to whisper and be quiet as a fun learning activity. Show them the difference between whispers, talking, and being loud. The more knowledge she has the better she'll get. As for the reading stuff, I'd simply let her continue. I love it when the kids 'read' for me.
