Oooh, I'm going to do this one next year!

This year I had each mom bring in a shirt of the dads (their work uniform, a jersey of their favorite sports team, a shirt and tie...whatever was the dad's "look"). I took a picture of each kid in their dad's shirt and they made frames that said "I Want to Be Like My Dad." They came out really cute.
      That's adorable!

it was easy too! I had planned to do the road/massage shirt but with all my kids being young I figured that would be all me, not the kids so went with the old standby - handprints!!

We did these. On back of the keychain we wrote the child's name and the year.

Love the shrinkydink idea. Where do you find that?

We're doing a "photo shoot" tomorrow similar to this picture and I'm modge-podging it to ceramic tiles from Home Depot. They turn out to be cute coasters.

Question for those who have SA kids in their program -

I used to do special crafts (ie Mothers/Fathers Day, Christmas) with ALL my kids, even the SA kids.
However it's difficult to do those types of crafts with the SA kids as they are not here for as long, and let's face it, they do those crafts at school too. After one "I already made something at school!" comment and a comment from a parent a few years ago about age inappropriate crafts I stopped doing them with the SA kids.

With Father's Day coming up on Sunday, I am wondering if I should have my two SA boys do something or stick to my policy? If you take SA kids, what do you do?

Playcare, I'm glad you asked this. I've been wondering the same thing. I hate to leave them out but the gift we made as a younger group would not be suitable for the 6-8 yo group. I might just have them make a card and list all the reasons why they love their dad, take a picture of them to stick in somewhere.

We made picture frames that we glued washers, nuts & bolts, nails, screws, etc. to. I inserted their photos and a little note that says "My dad can fix anything!"
I thought this would be perfect since 2 of the dcds are in construction, ones an iron worker, and the other owns a glass repair shop. All "Mr. Fix-its"!

I doubt a couple of my dcd's could fix anything, but I love this idea for a couple of them- really cute!

White coffee mugs, kids decorate with paint pens, bake in the oven for half an hour to cure, tada!!
