    First Term, Wording, Reducing Numbers

    Newbie here!
I have an infant that's been here for 4 months (he's 6 months now). He cries constantly! Always! I can't do it anymore. His mom is off for summer (school teacher) but they pay to keep their spot, so she brings him anyway, even tho she is at home. I am to the point that I can't do it anymore. I need to term, but I want to use the reason 'reducing my numbers' instead of 'your kid cries all the time you can't ever come back!!'!!! , sorry I just am exhausted, maybe a little delirious today even. I would love help composing a letter or something to say to her. Help please ladies,.

Before you write the letter to term, I just wanted to ask if you've considered asking dcm to keep him home for the summer and maybe try it again in the fall? He'll be older then - about 8 or 9 months, right? I've had some really tough infants who improved tremendously once they reached an age where they could sit up and play on their own. Usually by the time they start to walk, they tire easlily and nap so much better as a result. Just a thought in case you think you may have trouble filling the spot right away.

If you've already decided that you want to term, though, you can find samples of termination letters at a website called The Day Care Lady. You might find something helpful there.
    Good luck!

I am also curious as to why you don't want to tell her the real reasons.

Lying is so sticky... you have to keep it up and what if she finds out?

It's easier to tell her the truth and perhaps you'd be doing her new provider a favor and helping mom see the error in her ways. kwim?

It blows me away that a teacher would send.their baby to daycare in the summer. Paid or not... it's becoming very common now.

It used to be that you wouldn't have number one kid while on maternity leave with number two. Now it's rare to have a parent who keeps number one home at all.

Used to be teachers would keep their kids home all summer. Now it's becoming common.... I wouldn't say the norm... but common for the kid to stay in daycare.
