    Father's Day

Seems like Mother's Day is so much easier to come up with crafts for!

What are your Father's Day ideas?

On pinterest I'm finding a lot of tie, fishing and fill in the blank poems and crafts. None of these are good for my group as far as interests and my dcks are too young for fill ins

I have a friend who is a professional photographer. She is coming to take pics of the kids for the dads.

Last year I bought ceramic coffee cups from the dollar store and let the kids paint them for their dads. I wrote Happy Father's Day on them. I think we made a card too.

One year at a center I worked at, one of the teachers brought in a guitar and had the kids hold it and took a pic. She put it in a frame and wrote "Dad You Rock!".
      That's all I've got...

I'll definitely be following this thread!

        I've got nothing.

Last year they made footprint keychains on those shrinkydink things.
The year before that they made mugs (handprints sideways and filled in with an eyeball and bubbles to make it a fish...).

          The guitar one is cool!

I was thinking of a dad rocks craft but the ones I found look like a lot of work for me and not the kids. I could modify it though. Here are a few I found

The rock frame would be cool with the guitar pic in it! Hmmm maybe I found my craft

Now that I think about it, I might just do the guitar one too! They did turn out pretty cute!

I only have a set of twins this year for Father's day so I'm taking 3 pics spelling out I (pointing at eye) lovethis (making a heart with their hands) and then you (pointing out) and then I have a set of questions I'm going to ask that they get to tell about their daddy...how old is he, what's his favorite color, what does he do for work, what's his fav food. Little questions like that. Their answers are the cutest!

We are making candied nuts (recipe I found on pinterest) putting them in a mason jar with a tag that says Dad I'm nuts about you. We made them last year and one of my dcds has been bugging for more ever since.

Love this! We made BBQ sauce on year and that was a big hit! It's always so hard to come up with gifts for the dad's.

                    Thanks for sharing this!

I bought these frames for $1. The kids will paint them then glue some rocks on them. Then I'll write "My Daddy Rocks!" I'm debating if I'll take a pic of each kid holding a guitar or use a Facebook pic of each child with their dad to go inside

I cannot wait to get another camera. Times like this I feel so lost without one. One year I took pictures of each kid, made to look like they were shaving(we put shaving cream on the chins, gave them the big tongue depressors, put a towel around their neck), then made a frame for them. They came out sooo cute!

I like the candied nuts idea, do you have a recipe you wouldn't mind sharing??
I want to do some kind of artwork, featuring hand or foot prints. Any ideas there?

                          I've got a few!

I love love love the Walk a Little Slower poem, I would do the poem with a footprint along side it.

For the following in dad's footprints, I would use my husband's shoe to make a print.

I like the footprint inside footprint, just using a generic man's footprint since of course we can't actually use their dads' without ruining the surprise

I have more I'll post them after

Haha Craftymom, I was just browsing Pinterest and saw the Walk alongside me, Daddy poem with the footprints and picked that one. Now I've seen yours too, I really like the balls in your 2nd post, plus I was thinking of doing a footprint inside a footprint but wondered how to do it without the daddy print. I'll just use one of my shoes, they're big enough. Cute cute ideas! Thanks!!
