    immunizations in michigan?

Are kids required to have immunizations?
I have 2 new infants who are going to start soon, so I feel like I should already know this answer but I don't. One infant is up to date on all shots, and one only has some (choosing not to receive others).

I know in the child in care statement it asks this but it really doesn't address my question.

    Help?

I should add, my children are all old enough and have had most of their vaccinations, but am I obligated to let the other parent of the other infant know that one of the children isn't vaccinated? I looked at the technical manual and it just says a waiver must be signed.

It is entirely up to you. As long as parent signs a waiver, that is all you need. You can accept children who are not fully vaccinated but you do not have to. I am not sure about the rules of passing the info on to the other parents. I do not believe that is law, I believe that is entirely up to you to decide on a n individual basis.

I would never accept a child that wasn't up to date on their vaccinations. Too dangerous for everyone.

After speaking with my husband I have decided not to accept based on this., and will be adding it to my handbook.
