Ok so now I don't want to do this anymore, I want to withdraw my offer from them. How can I do this?

I can't just say I filled the spot when they call because they know I'm holding it and waiting for them to call before I give it to the next in line. :/
Crap. How awkward is this?! LOL

Personally, I would just email/text (however you communicate) and just say "after careful thought and consideration on this, I've decided to withdrawal my offer for care for ________" maybe throw something in about missing her dearly but you feel this is in this is in the best interest of everyone, most importantly _______. If they ask for a reason why, maybe throw in that you were making choices based on emotion and not business and while you love their family and always will, you run a business and need to think business first. It's hard to do but like the others pointed out, once you start special... They expect special every time. And then when you have a call to fill your spot at the full rate you're going to be kicking yourself in the butt and perhaps feel resentful for the discounted child. It's happened to me!

I agree! Or you can always tell them that a current client changed their days so you won't have a spot after all! Yes, LIE:: use your most apologetic tone, as if your completely bummed but your hands are tied.
