    Milk Issues

I have a toddler who only drinks milk at daycare has been refusing milk at home.
we serve 2% at daycare and at home they give whole milk in a few months he will be 2 and I will have to switch to 1% which I'm sure he will really like NOT!

What do I tell the mom? suggestions for the milk transition?? I am on the food program

A lot of times parents will say "will not do xx at home" etc and what that really means is they cried a little so mom gave in.

I would simply give mom the food program guidelines and let it be.

When you switch to the 1% at daycare, serve it and walk away.

Don't make a big deal out of it. Odds are he will drink it without issues. If he does fuss though, just keep serving it...he WILL adapt.

Kids are easy. It's the parents that make things hard.

      Thanks blackcat

Thanks black cat your absolutely right!

Also occurred to me I think she said that because he had diarrhea from "teething" last week.

She said he wont drink milk at home don't give any juice. I think he must have had diarrhea over the weekend so she maybe Is making it up about the milk. He sure drinks a lot here and he's so big and solid for his age too.

kids survive just fine without milk. Really they do. Serve it if you have to and don't worry about whether or not he drinks it.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I'm having a bit of the same thing going on here. The 14 mos old went from breastmilk to formula to whole milk. He apparently didn't take to the whole milk right off at home. But I was still doing formula here until we finished the open tub. So dcm say he doesn't "like" cows milk. So he's on strickly almond milk. I have told her I really don't think he cares much considering he grabs any random sippy and drinks it with no problem. He's their first baby so I'm sure they'll catch on soon enough. They supply all the almond milk.

Has anyone had a parent requesting the "toddler formula"? Or know anything about the stuff?
I just had my first parent wanting it served to her child. I told her I would give it to him (after the milk that's required by the food program), but that I will not supply it.
There has been a huge ad campaign for this stuff, but I have no idea if it is just a marketing ploy or if it supplies something that toddlers need.

I have a mom using it for her newly turned 1 yr old.

I won't supply it either (and offer milk at lunch) but allow it at snack time.

              Mom provides.

I used to have a lot of parent use....I think it was more popular a few years back as it seemed to have died off but now I do have a parent using it so....

I think my DCM uses it because she hates milk and doesn't buy it. Her older child drinks milk but mom said he gets it in school so she doesn't have to buy it.
