Well, I wonder if a church would listen to your concerns about satanic rituals and possible spirits? Are there churches that still practice exorcisms?

Oh, I didn't know that about gas. I don't use gas, am so paranoid.

Today, I got on Facebook and found the girl who used to live here ( she was a friend of my daughter's from 8 years ago). I met up with her and she came over. She said she doesn't remember anything weird going on here when she lived here and the only thing that died here that she knows of is her hamster which they buried in the front yard. Her biological father died in a city about 20 minutes away from me before she moved into this house.

She said that she and her girlfriend do have a tendency to feel spirits so they walked around. The girl I know felt a bad spirit in the back room of the basement and in the hallway just in front of the two little bedrooms. Her girlfriend felt bad spirits in the back bedroom and in the basement. Now, of course they could just be saying that. But I don't think the girl I knew would make stuff up... why would she?

And of course, now my daughter (who got home just after the girls I mentioned above) is even more scared and literally asked if she can sleep with me tonight!! Oh good grief!

        Craftymom,

Yeah, I have thought about that too. But I think that would be very odd to have more than one strange thing happening.

          Josiegirl,

There is no gas leak, so the gas isn't causing any problem or concern. I am also afraid of gas. But I am used to it because I've had gas stoves and furnaces ever since I can remember except for the time I lived down south. So I guess I've had gas appliances for 25 or so years. But, yeah, when a pilot goes out or I smell gas, I get nervous.

My daughter just told me she has packed a bag of clothes just in case we have to run out of the house again in the middle of the night!

So, since the girl who used to live here doesn't remember anything scary about the house, maybe the people who lived here before me were satanic and maybe that's what this is all about.

Many times a baby monitor will pick up someone else's monitor .

Mine would pick up my neighbors from about 400 ft away . So keep that in mind when if you do hear voices through the baby monitor .

Have you considered doing a cleansing on your entire house? I'm a practicing green witch and I could send you a ritual for a house cleansing to remove unruly spirits. It's super easy.

                      Wednesday,

A Wiccan I know told me to get a sage/smudge stick and do something in all 4 corners. But I am a Christian and I'm not sure about doing a Wiccan ritual.

My dad taught unconditional love, respect for all! While I consider myself to be a simple, conservative christian, I think if something was happening in my home that affected my own children negatively (and being scared all the time is very negative) I would have to move no matter what. Just my feelings on this subject! I have never dealt with some thing like this before, but I did have many "dreams" after dad died that were "very real" to me and these dreams did make me feel better for what it's worth. However, I don't think I would stay in a house that terrified me! I think my automobile would be a better place to live than in a scary home.

I have respect for Wiccans, if not, I wouldn't be friends with people who are Wiccan. I'm just uncomfortable being a Christian and performing a Wiccan ritual. I just spoke with a friend on the phone and she said that maybe instead of the sage/smudge stick and actually performing the Wiccan ritual, to try burning sage candles or put sage in a pot of water and let it boil for a while or get vaporizers and put sage in water in them around the house.

I hired my assistant to work from 9 to 3 tomorrow so I can go talk to my preacher (if he's available) and go to the stores to look for sage candles and sage seasoning. I might even get myself to go to the store my Wiccan friend told me about and look into the sage/smudge stick and 7 day candle someone on here told me about.

Knowing me, I will buy everything that everyone has suggested and stand there with the Bible in one hand and the smudge stick in the other hand!

Also, I posted about this on my Facebook page. I know a lot of 20 or so year old guys from when my older daughter was younger. My house was the hangout house back then. I don't really keep in touch with the kids from then because they've grown up and gone about their lives. But one of the boys (20 or so years old now) just messaged me and asked if I was really that scared in this house. I told him yes and some things that have happened. And that my younger daughter is now asking to stay at her friends' house instead of sleeping in her own house. He said that he isn't feeling well tonight, but offered to come crash here if it would make me feel safer. I told him that I think he needs to be in good condition in case something happens while he's here. So maybe I will get him to sleep over in a few days after he feels better.

I'm not wiccan, pv, and it's not a wiccan ritual. It's just a pagan thing. But I totally understand. Let me know if you change your mind and I'll be happy to send it to you. Burning sage in the corners is actually a part of this ritual! So you're kinda doing part of it already... While you're shopping, if you think you may consider doing it, pick up a small sage bundle, some sea salt, and a white candle. That's all you'll need if you decide to do the ritual. Oh and put out a dish to collect some rain water. Good luck!

Wow... I've been skipping over this thread cause it was really long with a ton of comments, but curiosity got the best of me tonight so I read em all.

Couple of thoughts.. houses do settle, and make weird noises from time to time. Partner this with some of the other things you've seen, heard, and some of the noises could be explained.. plus your so intently listening that every little sound is gonna get your mind racing. Also, falling asleep in a house that you've heard/saw unexplained things in has to be a good scenario to get your mind racing .. could explain your daughter hearing things on the monitor. She fell asleep and was dreaming?

OR.. someone does get in and mess with you. Grab a tape measure and check the size of all the rooms, do some math and see if it adds up. A friend of mine years ago had an apt. and after living there for months, had another friend come over. About 5 min later, the comment was made that .. well.. "shouldn't this back bedroom be bigger"? He was right. There was a fake wall. An entire wall. 8 ft high and 20 ft long. There was 2 ft of space behind it making the room 2ft narrower than it should have been. This was very well done and not noticed by the first 20 people who saw the room. Access was through a panel in the corner that when removed had water pipes behind it with shut off valves. They were actually fake pipes that came out and revealed another panel that when removed opened up a big enough hole to squeeze through. Lots of outlets behind this wall.. looked like a secret room to plug in grow lights for weed.

Anyways . I hope you figure it out, and my suggestion to help ya sleep would be to replace some of your light switches with sensors that turn on when you walk in. Oh, and the wasp spray works beautifully.. Will leave a full sized adult male crying like a child, or knocking over furniture due to blindness while trying to find the door.

See! It does happen where someone lives in the walls! It doesn't happen often and is practically unbelievable when someone first tells you about it, but it does happen!

Wow! Mr. Sir Husband, I bet your friend was scared to death and freaked out when they found that false wall! I don't know what the room sizes should be in this house. I will have to look into that and measure the rooms. I have just been looking for false doors or ways to open a wall.
