The daycare kids do not leave my sight except for when I have to go to the bathroom. When they go to the bathroom, they do have to go to the top of the stairs. But I require the kids to leave the bathroom door open because I had a child play with the toilet water, a couple of kids have put large amounts of toilet paper in the toilet, and a couple of times kids have put paper towels in the toilet. Since some of them play in the bathroom like this, I require that they leave the bathroom door open. They still have privacy because you can't see up the stairs from where the kids are in the rooms on the main floor. You literally have to walk over to the side of the house and look up the steps to see in the bathroom, then, you have to be tall enough to see a child sitting on the toilet. So, I can, if a child is in the bathroom too long, I can look upstairs to check on them, but the other kids can't see them in the bathroom.

The children nap/play/eat/do everything right here in my living room and dining room and I am here in the rooms with them all day unless I go to the bathroom. My dog (which I know some of you will be concerned about the dog around the kids) but, my dog runs throughout the house and is often on the main floor with the children when I go to the bathroom. I am only in the bathroom long enough to do my business and then come back to the room with the kids. My kitchen is divided from the dining room by an island. So there is no wall blocking me from them when I am in the kitchen.

My children and I have lived in this house for almost 2 years, I have done home daycare for almost the entire time I have lived here. Nothing has happened to anyone in my home. If someone is living here that I don't know, I don't think they are going to hurt anyone. If they were going to, they would have hurt someone by now. If someone is in here, I think it's a homeless person who needs place to stay and access to food.

However, when we hear noises at night, see shadows, realize that food is missing, of course it scares us. And I definitely do not want someone here uninvited. Of course I am concerned that they are seeing us in the bathroom or bedrooms when we are undressed. But honestly, I was more worried about that when this all started. Now, I am just more irritated that we lose sleep, are scared in our own home at night, and haven't figured out who or what this is and haven't gotten it to stop yet.

I've kind of become accustomed to it. But it NEEDS to stop! It's so nice when things stop for a while and we can forget about it ever happening and just go to sleep all night long with no worries. But then after some time, it starts up again. It's just wearing me out. When it starts up, it gets my daughter and I in a state of worry/fear every night. And me in a state of concern throughout the day.

Seriously, why does it matter if the OP is a registered member or not? And why would it matter if she stated who she was or wasn't???

It isn't like posting under the user name Blackcat gives my words any more credibility that if I posted under Catherine Miller or "unregistered" know what I mean?

WHO she is has NOTHING to do with the situation.

I also think that if you don't believe the OP, then don't comment... I personally do not believe in ghosts or spirits but have zero issues with anyone who does and I certainly would not belittle someone or give them grief about their beliefs simply because they don't align with mine.

If you think the OP is making this up....then cool, you are entitled to your thoughts/opinion but to continue discussing whether or not she is or isn't telling the truth is silly as the OP obviously does believe someone IS in her house.

Most our "trolls" or pot stirrers post as unregistered and then rarely return. This OP has returned to reply and add several times within the thread.

Gathering info from the things she has posted, it's also apparent as to why she has stayed living in the home. She said several times that she is a single mom making ends meet on a child care providers salary. Money is obviously a key influence as to how she manages or solves this issue.

OP, I hope you are able to find a solution to what is happening.

I know that once you "see" something that freaks you out, it is amazing the tricks your eyes believe they saw or your ears think they have heard.
I truly hope this is not a living breathing human in your home because that is just plain old creepy and VERY unsettling.

I have read stories about this type of thing happening to others but don't know anyone personally who has had to deal with this so I really do hope that you are able to get to the bottom of this. Try the flour, the Drop cam, the scotchtape and every other suggestion given as something is better than nothing.

When you do get to the bottom of this, please keep us updated so we can rest assured that you and your daughters are ok.

I'll be honest, either you don't want to do anything about it or you are playing the pity card.

you have teenagers, tell them to get a job. You don't have enough money, work a second job. Save and move. If your not making enough doing daycare then you need to rethink your plans.

also, the dollar store sells lots of cheap gadgets. they even sell window alarms, I know because I have them. For 30 dollars you can even get a door alarm from home depot. Have you checked for foot prints. How about flood lights, you can buy them under 20 dollars. You can also set up your ipod to record at night too. There are so many cheap and easy things out there, why haven't you tried them.

and if you were really serious, why wait 2 yrs to do something about it. Seems like you are too lax about the situation too.

We all need support and encouragement but it is ultimately up to the individual to "do something" and quit whining. MOVE ON ALREADY!!!!!

Oh I missed that. No. They can't consume food . But they can move things and generally make noise and cause issues.
So, I am with everyone else on this. Get some cameras and see what's going on when whoever it is is active.

Do you have an Amazon account or know someone locally who does? You can also sign up under Amazon Mom and get a free trial for their Prime services which includes free 2 day shipping. I know you're account is currently negative but when you get paid again I HIGHLY suggest setting up a small hidden camera like this one and two if you can swing it. Put them in the two locations most frequented (like where you found the Burger King bag) and the kitchen?

I don't know whether or not I believe there's someone in your home, but if I personally thought someone was in my house for TWO YEARS, I would have set up a camera, a freakin rope with tin cans, baby powder on the floor... SOMETHING!! I think that's what is hard for people to wrap their mind around. I have been stuck living in a house I didn't want to because I didn't have the money to move out so I can TOTALLY get that part of it. But you have to do something here...

Do you have flour? Sprinkle that instead of powder to check for footprints. Also I bought door sirens at the $ store they operate by magnets and mount with sticky tape onto doors and windows. When you get a few $$ yo could try those and see if your doors, closet or otherwise, are breached.
                    I see little people.

Also, it's been a while, if you were really serious you would have gotten a cheap camera (yes you can get them cheap) and set it up.
Also, a ghost wouldn't bring in Burger King and leave the wrapper, let's be serious!
Finally, I would be very uncomfortable leaving my children in a homedaycare where someone was sneaking in and out, or was inhabited by ghosts. Safety of the children in your charge should be priority number one.
So either fess up that you are pulling everyone's leg, or sign in under your user name (there's no reason not to) or put up cameras and figure out what's going on.
I don't believe you are serious. Either not serious about what is actually going on (just having some fun with all these ladies), or not really serious about figuring out what is happening and doing something about it.
                      That's my piece.

As for remaining unregisitered, I still don't get it. No one is going to track you down and report you because you think you might have ghosts.
You said before that you looked for a camera and couldn't find one, not that you didn't have the money to purchase one.
Like I said, I am just unsure as you are an anonymous person on the internet typing words, who cares if I believe you or not.
Just thought there were some ways you could add credibility.
Hope you figure it all out, I'm sure if you really believe there is something going on (for months now I believe you said) you must be quite scared with no options to leave.
Or perhaps you have become accustomed to it as you say nobody is in danger.
I have never visited an Internet forum where I knew anyone. And as much as I dearly care for all of the members here, there's absolutely no way to know who is truthful and who isn't regardless of whether they post as a registered member or not. There's no reason for her to prove the story's true or to give credibility to the story. Either you want to give her CONSTRUCTIVE advice relavent to her situation or you honestly can just ignore this post and move on.

With that said, OP, I feel for you. I've experienced enough craziness to know that I have ghosts in my home. My house was built in 1918 so who knows what's happened here. I do know that in the early 90s a woman hanged herself in the garage... just a few years before my parents bought it. I was alone one night and sleeping and "someone" spit a giant, smelly loogie in my face! ::

Quite a few are worried that this story is false...I don't really care to be honest. It's a change of the usual "daycare is the one thing that is going to make me pull my hair out". It's a fun story. Makes ya think. What would you do if this was going on? For most of the reasons listed above is probably why she is staying logged out (even though I think she logged in and commented a while up, even if it was on accident). If someone finds out she feels this way and happens to be a client...those kids would most likely be pulled immediately.

If it is true...I would be a nervous wreck all of the time! I'm the type of person that when I turn off my downstairs lights I am RUNNING up the stairs because there is most likely a serial killer chasing me with a knife it's my imagination but almost every night that's where my thoughts go ::

SO good luck and I really hope you figure out what is going on!!

I don't anyone on any forums either, posting as registered wouldn't definitively make me believe someone, it's just slightly more credible than posting as anonymous.
You know, I'm allowed to express my opinion and ask for clarification just like everyone else posting on here.
And to get on me about asking her why she didn't sign in as registered.......Boy, if I wanted to waste my time counting up how many times other posters have asked someone why they were posting as anonymous in other threads, well let's just say it happens ALL THE TIME!!!!
I am by no means criticizing just thinking out loud about whether I believed this to be a true post or not, and asking some questions that I wanted to know more about.
