I don't know about you, but I think I'd rather know about rates, program, meals, etc.. BEFORE I cared what race my child's provider was. Weird..like a personals ad.
That rubbed me the wrong way.

This one's not that bad, but how is it that young kids don't have a little voice in their head that says "I'm making myself sound so stupid"?

This one is just looking for some "cute kids"

"A interesting fact I have learned in my time of parenting and child care is that when a child is crying they aren't using part of their brain which you use to make choices"

I think I'd like a source for that little tidbit of information.

That last one...the grammar...it burns. The first one-what's with the tongue shots? She looks immature and stupid. No one needs to see your tongue ring, kiddo. (No, I'm not anti piercing or tat by any means...just that pic does not look professional at all.) And $10 a day???? Yeah...quality care there, I'm sure.

It is actually true. Well sort of.

When a child cries, their blood pressure rises, their cortisol production increases, their oxygen levels decrease, their ability to focus or pay attetnion decreases and the part of their brains that allow them to "weigh" options or make decisions becomes somewhat un-usable in a sense.

It's much more complicated than that and I think the OP took it out of context or maybe just heard a portion of the topic and went with it but the study was more about long term crying and focused more on CIO than an upset or tantruming toddler/preschooler. ::

I guess it's just the way she wrote it. As in, she learned this fact from directly working with children. Like one day she noticed the decision making part of their brain turned off while they were crying.

She practically needs a daycare license just to watch her own kids. It's hard to find an available daycare spot for infants, let alone twins! Not to mention the difficulty of finding a place that has 6 spots open for less than $1,000/month. She would either have to use a sitter (which would even cost more) or put them all in separate daycares, because it is practically impossible to find 1 daycare that will take all of her children.

What really creeped me out was the "We are interested in child/children near his age, but are willing to take older or younger children" and the "We are open to your schedule, and could be available on short notice for date nights, etc" I kind of understand they are just looking for money and are (obviously) desperate so they are trying to be accomadating, but at the same time it just comes off totally wrong when reading it.

I'm not trying to be mean, but that whole ad just screamed "Chester" to me.

One of the things I like about Germany is that you NEED to have some sort of education/training to care for kids. They even offer a totally free program to be an in-home dcp, and offer classes constantly, so you can keep educating yourself for free.

I'm not saying that people need degrees to have kids, but sometimes I wish there was some sort of screening process.

On a side note, I find it really weird how many people are saying they don't drink or do drugs. Isn't that kind of given when you're working with kids? (At least while you're working?)
