I have a parent that left owing me 1 week's tuition (plus late fees now). I really don't want to spend the time going to small claims court and have thought about having a collections agency do the work for me. At this point it's not so much about getting paid as it is about her having to pay. I've looked through old posts here but still don't know how to find an agency. How do I do this? I'm in VA btw.

I live in a small town and have a collection agency on main street here. I've only ever sent one to collections - my very first client. I still haven't recieved ANY payment from them. However, it was a lesson learned and I now do business much differently. The collection agency actually wound up taking this client to small claims court for me and they still haven't paid anything on it.
Hope you have better results.
