    Fan-Friggin-Tastic....

Somehow, injured my ankle early this morning. Severe pain & swelling. Can't reach sub. I had to text everyone to explain that I had to go to the ER. There's just no way around it. I can't even walk. Half an hour later, dcd shows up with dcg5. I explain to him again. He leaves with his feathers all ruffled. On my way to the ER, the sub calls to say she can come. I text parents again. She goes in, he shows up again (proof that he received my messages, or else how would he know to bring dcg back?), and is so rude to her! She says good morning! He looks at her, then turns to sign in. He tells dcg5 goodbye and sub says have a nice day! He walks straight out the door with no acknowledgement. Omg, I have ZERO tolerance for this mess today. It is completely uncalled for to be rude to her.

I'm sorry you hurt your ankle. I hope it isn't anything serious.

I am also sorry this DCD was so rude to your sub.

I understand (not that, that excuses it though) but I DO understand as it is hard for parents to have to work around the fact that we are people/parents/humans too. Especially on short notice...kwim?

Totally understand too why DCD may not have received the first text.
I never used to turn my phone on until AFTER I dropped my children off.

Again, doesn't excuse his rudeness but I do understand parents' frustrations when DCP's cancel last minute.

OH man, I'm so sorry that dcd had to be a butt about it. I hope your ankle isn't too seriously injured! Hugs and healing to you!

Thanks guys. It is a 2nd degree sprain, meaning the tendons are pulled in both directions. I guess just expected a little more understanding that accidents happen. In an entire year, I've been sick one single day and opened late today. He acted like it was a recurring problem or something. Lord knows I accommodate them when they show up on unscheduled days unannounced (dcg is part time).

            Glad you are ok.

See that is your problem (bolded).... you accommodate them when they show up unexpectedly....

In their eyes (or atleast DCD's) that doesn't say "Oh what a wonderfully flexible and understanding provider we have."

In his mind it says "Our provider is ALWAYS available and never says no"

See how that can influence his actions from this morning?

Now, I am NOT saying you should never be accommodating, I am just saying that YOU view it as being accommodating/flexible but most parents see that kind of niceness as nothing more than who you are and what your program offers.
