    Odd Vacation Question

I currently only have one family. (Fine by me, I'm pregnant, and only want 2 families right now anyway.) I had two families leave in April-one became a SAHD, the other had a new baby and was taking nearly a year off. So, this was the 7 mo dcg's first week. Parents are both teachers-dad teaches music at a store, while mom is a schoolteacher. They told me today that June 4th would be her last day until late Aug when school resumes. They elected to take their chances I won't be full and not pay the half rate holding fee. I'm due late Aug/early Sept. Here's my question:

I told them upon enrolling I was using my 2 weeks' paid vacation as maternity leave this year. Now, obviously since they may not be here when I give birth(they likely will, but just in case...) would it be ethical to take a vacation later as well, since no one would be paying for those two weeks? Say, I have no families from June- 2 weeks after birth. Would it be ok to say, hey yeah, I took the two weeks off, but I had no one paying anyway. My vacay days will now be Thanksgiving week & Christmas week? etc...

So during your scheduled/planned paid time off, NO ONE is scheduled to be in attendance?

Well then it's not a PAID two week vacation then is it?

I'd go ahead and take whatever alternate weeks you want...

If they ask later on about the change...you can tell them that since they opted NOW, to take a majority of the summer off that you were technically closed during that time and then are "officially" re-opened for business as of Aug xx (whatever date they are planning to return).

OK, thanks. That's how I was looking at it too. I just didn't want them to be mad that I had told them maternity leave, and then changed it...But if they're coming back in late august anyway, it'llbe most likely moot. My due date is Sept. 11.
