    Dearest DCM

I know that Monday is your day off and you have errands to do, but your not yet 2 year old NEEDS A NAP. And your 3 year old isn't so hot without one, either.

Every Tuesday this poor child spends most off the morning crying because she is so very tired. I am eagerly anticipating the summer when they switch to Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays, her other provider can nap her the day before she's here and I won't have to deal with a seriously overtired toddler with an attitude!

Were they dropped off late because of the errands, interrupting nap?

ETA: Just reread that, so yesterday they were with mom and didn't nap, so today they are miserable, gotcha!

That's how my Mondays are when the kids are with parents all weekend and they don't nap at home

Unfortunately, they are home with mom every Monday, so Tuesday mornings are brutal around here

Put them back to bed as soon as they arrive.

If mom does't nap them on Mondays and they are tired on Tuesday...they need to go back to bed OR have mom come get them if she didn't nap them the day before.

It amazes me when parents expect providers to put up with the fall out from their poor choices.

Thursdays were always hard for my last DCB, he was bounced around on Wednesdays because mom originally didn't work that day but was forced to pick it up eventually and instead of committing to anyone, she just found someone to watch them. Mom, sister, step mom, friends, neighbors, me, the preschool... So Thursday was always a PITB getting him to sleep and behave like normal!

I've tried putting the down when they get here, but then they will not nap (or even rest) during nap

The bouncing around is exactly the problem. Sunday/Monday with mom, T/Th with me, W/F at another home daycare, Saturdays with whoever can take them while mom works.

When they first started here I didn't offer up a full time slot and was told it wasn't necessary as grandma and aunts would care for them. She maintains that to this day. Somewhere along the line I found out that they go to another daycare in our town. Our town is the size of a postage stamp. We have 2 traffic lights. But somehow she thought I wouldn't know? I could take them full time at this point, but I don't wannna (said in my best two year old whiney voice). I wouldn't be sad if they went full time there, either

              You have options...

              1) Every. Single. Time. they don't nap they get picked up.

              2) Tell dcm they need to go full time or find other care (and cross your fingers she goes elsewhere)

              3) Just keep doing what you're doing and suffer

But, really, there's absolutely no reason to suffer.

Also, wth is the reason for them going to two daycares? That's so odd!

                  I know! So very odd.

I'm really just biding my time until a family member gets pregnant. I'm hoping the switch to two days in a row with me will bring about a bit of improvement!
