I would just like to say THANK YOU to all of you wonderful people who offer support without judgement! I was on an outing with my group last week and I ran into another home daycare provider. She had 10 month old dcg with her and was feeding her a squeezy veggie pack. I was chatting with her about them and she was very defensive, saying that she only buys them occasionally, and usually never, and it's just this one time... I was like, calm down lady. Don't you know I'm on your team?

Yikes. Why be defensive about a squeezy veggie pack? She was on an outing as a daycare provider - convenience at a time like that is always helpful.

I think she was just used to being judged by all the providers around here. There are some pretty horrible providers who get nasty over competition!

That's exactly why I do not associate with any local providers. I have one friend who became a provider after me and we talk - but that's it. I stay out of the mommy wars and the provider wars.
