    weird call

I got a call Friday night around midnight . Just an empty line then a few minutes later the phone rings again . My dh kept saying hello , just as he is about to hang up a woman says "I want to drop off my kid " . Dh says who is this ? She said " Charlotte , I want to drop off my kid " . My dh then starts muttering about weird people and crank calls . I really hate to think that someone was calling that late wanting to bring their kid over .

Weird. Maybe she was desperate or lived in a different area or doesn't know how daycare works?

I know a guy who was a dispatcher and he said that they got a phone call from a lady saying she needed an officer to come babysit her child....needless to say it didn't work out for her...

Is your phone number close the number for respite care in your area? I wonder if someone is wanting that type of care or feels unable to handle their child.
      I agree, though. Weird

That is where my mind went. How odd. If you know the number I would try calling them back now and seeing what is was they were looking for.

Or do you have your number on Craigslist or advertised somewhere? Maybe it was kids prank calling people?

That sounds very prank callish to me.

My dh feels it was a crank call . But I would think kids would use other language " not I need to drop off my kid " .

I do have an ad out so it not hard to find our number if someone was really looking for care .

We have had this # for over 6 years , not sure if it is close to a respite care # .
