I've been so grumpy all weekend about this, and I totally need to get it off my chest if that's ok with you guys. I have a parent who pays me on Fridays for the following week that his kids will be in care (per my advance-payment contract). Saturday he texts me and says his kids won't be in care all week, and could he please use this week as the annual vacation week. AND can he please have his money back.
I was SO mad at first, but then I started thinking about all the days and weeks his kids weren't in my care, but he drove all the way to my house to pay me anyway. He's the #1 best parent ever as far as payment goes. So I gave him the refund, but gave him a reminder that next year's vaca must come with a two week notice, as outlined in my policy handbook.
I'm trying to let it go, but it was pretty rude, right? If his employer told him on Monday morning that he had to take the day off and give 20% of his paycheck back that he received the previous Friday, would he be annoyed?
