    On My Last Nerve!

Just have to vent. This DCG is driving me nuts. She is 4 1/2. She cries because kids don't play with her (I don't blame them) then yells at them if they don't play exactly the way she wants. She clears out the playroom. She doesn't do anything I tell her to do. She gets consequences all day long. Today she didn't go potty after nap when they know they are supposed to ....so she peed in her chair and left a big puddle. I am pretty sure it was on purpose because of the look on her face. She just told another boy to shut up yet all day long she tattles on kids who say the slightest of things she deems as "a bad word" like gosh. She is the first to arrive and the last to leave.

Just had to vent....one of those days. Oh and then a DC teacher mom just complained about having to pay 1/2 for summer to save a spot for her child. I told her I could not stay in business and not charge to hold spots. You should see her house, can we say mini mansion? Do parents realize how much we (or I) fret over every little things they say?

Some days like today I wonder if it's really worth it.

4-5yr olds drive me batty. That's why I prefer under 4 here! The rattling drives me crazy. It's like "Hello!? Look in the mirror sister!"

As far as the DCM... Let it roll off your back. Act cool as a cucumber and say the alternative is risk losing the spot. Not sure what your load is like or if you're full with a wait list, pending siblings or not. If you are then explain it's her choice to pay for the spot, but understand you could easily fill it between now & then with the number of calls you've had lately!
I've found the more confident I am the more respect I get.

yeah by 4.5, kids here move on to full day preschool or preK. that summer before kinder is a nightmare and if she has another full year at home....wow, I honestly would just let her go rather than deal with that drama all day. I am sure it is a combo of her age with the fact that she is away from home so much. they get to where they will do anything for attention. its sad actually. its always the kid that is there open to close so I am not surprised.

I feel for you, believe me!
when kids pee on purpose you should really inform the parents.

I was just thinking last night how much I hate that age group. The almost 5 or just turned 5 kids are a nightmare.

They are always bored, always tattling on everyone, are spiteful and vengeful, get hurt all the time because they are big enough to do what the big kids are doing but not old enough to have any sense on reasoning, they go home and tell their parents everything they did or didn't do at daycare that day (We didn't do any learning today but you know how we are not allowed to watch TV at home well Miss Jenna let us watch a WHOLE movie today mom ~ enter death stare from mom)....and some of them just stare at you like they are plotting what they can do do completely ruin your day because you disciplined them earlier.

Not to mention the new found comedy in absolutely EVERYTHING and the loud fake laughter that ensues every time someone mentions a potty word....sigh.

I should ban all children between the age of 4-6 LOL

Oh yes....the extreme laughter....trying to outdo each other. I only take kids3-5 so I am kind of doomed. I love this age....for the most part.
