    Parent board ideas

I am creating a "Parent Board" and need ideas of those who also have something similar. I have to post (by MI state rules) a no smoking sign and recall sheet, but just wondered what everyone else put on theirs

Its just a cork board that's hung up on my wall by the entrance door.

I have required papers, my most recent licensing report, and any notices I sent out about upcoming things. I would like to add another item or 2.

      Did You Know?

I have a flip sheet thingy of all the required papers: insurance, license, maltreatment policy, etc. etc. as well as a copy of any recent cubby notes regarding closed days or policy changes or new paperwork.

But to draw parents in, I made a brightly colored laminated sign that says "Did You Know..." in those 2" sparkly bubble letters. Underneath it I write anything that I think of: fun facts we've recently learned (Jupiter has 63 moons & Venus has 0!), something especially fun we just did, that our spring picnic is coming up soon -- anything really. I change it up topic-wise, because people are always interested to see what's there. They never know

Post a photo (or a series) or a sample piece of art with a blurb about why it's important: what they were saying, how they approached it, what it meant to you, etc. Gives a sense of what matters to you, what kids are learning here, your philosophy, etc. Change it to something new whenever you can.
