10 Month Old and Nap Change?

I have a just turned 10 mo old dcb. He is not the best napper and has really not ever been. With the advise from others here I made naps at the same time every day and made sure he stayed in there for the duration of the naps if he woke up, which is what I've been doing. I have no problems with morning naps, he naps about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, usually closer to the 1 & 1/2 with usually Mondays being the closer to the 2 hour. Afternoon naps though is usually about 50 min - 1 hour, with maybe a few times since doing this for about a month an 1 1/2 but usually it's about an hour. I know at home he then goes down and like 6:30 bedtime and then obviously wakes before morning. I was wondering do you think it would be wise to change him to 1 nap? or do you think he's too young for that? I thought maybe instead of putting him down at 8:30 I would keep him up later like 11:30???? and hope he sleeps for longer??? Or is this theory not good??? All my babies have been pretty good nappers not like him. Just a thought.

    Oh my heavens no!
The earliest I transition from 2 to 1 naps is 18 months.

I start transitioning around 12 months. IMO he's still a little too young for 1 nap. Especially since he seems to wake up in the early morning, he's gonna have a really hard time lasting until 11:30!
To be honest, his naps seem to be somewhat normal. At 9 months, two naps at 1-2 hrs each is in the normal range.

I figured it was a little much at this age, his parents do one on weekends most times mainly because they are busy so I thought well maybe somehow he's just more used to that even though he's here 4 days per week.

In my daycare my babies nap 3 times a day with a morning nap (8-9) afternoon nap (11-2) and a evening nap (4-5) until age 6 months then I cut it down to 2 naps with cutting out the morning nap and at age 1 they are cut down to 1 nap which I cut out the evening and they nap from 11:30-2:00 in the afternoon never had a problem with kids napping this way of course they dont get on a nap shecdule till 3 months old.
