    My fear

Is that all the parents will ban together and insist on no naps or they will all leave.

Were parents THIS picky about naps 20 years ago?

Kids nap here. It's a fact of life.

I tell parents that rest time is NOT an option. If they fall asleep then they NEED that sleep. I have also posted several articles on website about sleep and children. If they do not want them to nap then this is not the program for them.

No, I don't think parents were like this 20 yrs ago. Some parents not all make me want bang my head on the wall and scream.

My policy also is napping is a must or at least quiet time from 1-3. However....Naptime has been the bain of my existence for three days. I have a 2 yr old dck who, if he shuts up for 2 min falls asleep and sleeps till I wake him. However, for three days in a row he has thought its funny to yell the others' names till they wake up too. Dcm's response?? "I stopped napping when I was two also" grrrrrrrrr!!!! No break for three days gets old quick.

My daughter is 26 and I made her take naps up to 1st grade. She went to 1/2 kindergarten then came home and took a nap.

If I hear one more time.......I think he has outgrown nap.....I'm gonna scream.

The mom who said it yesterday has the kid who falls asleep first of all my kids.

No, I am not giving you 1 Napless year just because you think he needs to get used to no naps......for kindergarten. :: you can disenroll hi. A week before school starts and get him adjusted.

Yeah...I've always had the occasional parent, even 23 years ago.

Dad of 14 mo dcb tried to tell me recently that his mom told him "you always told me you didn't want to nap and stopped early, too".

Wait...if you were OLD ENOUGH TO SAY IT, you probably weren't 14 months old, right?

My oldest would fall asleep at all day KDG and the teacher thought she wasn't getting enough sleep at night. I explained that she went to bed at 8p and slept till 6:30 everyday. Our dd who is 5 still naps on weekends, she goes to afternoon kinder-prep and at least once a week she stays home because she is tired and wants to nap. If our older two 12,10 are tired we have them lay down and rest. They will read during this time, but they usually fall asleep. Sleep is good!
