    Give me patience

My on the spectrum SA dck is the only one today. It's been a very fixated morning so far and it's only 10am. 15 rounds of Chutes & Ladders, a short movie (recited every word), and now singing the same song over and over.

I love this dck, I really do. I just don't feel like I have the patience for it today.

We're going on a "field trip" this afternoon, we just need to make it until then!

There must be something in the air! We're having early lunch, then straight on to nap, then outside time until bye-bye time (my SAer hurt her knee & that's all she's talked about, you'd think she lost a leg, can't wait until she's home from school so she I can hear her complain more).

Lol! I think is called Spring Fever. All the home school kids and moms I know are going through the same thing right now. Kids can't sit still, don't stop talking, but don't want to or seem to be unable to do anything constructive with any amount of focus. Everyone is restless and it always happens right around this time of year.

I have to drag my 6 year old to Lego Robotics class (which he usually loves) and we still have 3 more weeks!

I understand he is on the spectrum but self play is wonderful. Let him play with something he usually doesn't play with and remind him.......

          Go play toys.

          Color
          play dough
          legos
          blocks
          puzzles
          drawing
          farm
          people
          rice box

          a few ideas for you
          keep redirecting

sometimes one kid is harder then if you have them all. When this rare phenomenon happens I pull out stuff I don't normally that I know the child loves. I play a few things through out the day but I encourage self play and work on one on one issues that need spiffing up. Good luck- its a bitter sweet thing to only have one child.

Oh Lord, I don't think there was a moment this morning when SOMEONE wasn't crying, and several times it was all of them. Only 3 kiddos should have been an easy day!
