It's called Nebraska Step Up to Quality. It launches July 1st this year. Unless a provider receives $500,000/1st year and $250,000/2nd &3rd year in subsidy it is "voluntary." Those are amounts no home daycare could ever pull in, but I fear it will not be voluntary for very long. And I worry what it would look like to choose not to participate. I am in mourning already!

Washington State's version is called Early Achievers.
Yeah, it was voluntary. Then they stopped scholarships unless your an Early Achiever. Then they tried to pass a bill that would require Early Achiever if you took state paid kids. Yeah, that's not voluntary. Fortunately the bill didn't pass so it's not a law this year. But it will be. Nothing's voluntary for long.- Flag

They have something similar in MD . It is voluntary unless you have any state assistance kids , then you must participate or you do not get paid from the state.- Flag
