    2 Girls....

Who are the first to arrive and the last to leave.

They were both telling everyone that they were going to get picked up early today. Poor girls. It's a wish that never comes true for them.

Wish parents would understand that yes, kids do notice. Kids DO want to go home. Kids need their parents time and attention.

This is why....those who are kept in childcare programs too many hours tend to have the most trying behavior.

I hope it happens for them today.

Poor girls. Do the parents know they say this? Is there any way to mention it casually to see if they are able to pick up early sometimes, even just to surprise them?

One set of parents is new. Still trying to figure them out. She is here 50 hours a week. The dad picks older brother up first. I'd like to suggest he pick her up first since she's here so long

The other parents are teachers and bring her no matter what. She came on icy days when schools were closed and they had to slide up to my house. Older sister got to stay home with parents.

Kids definitely notice. I have one, the second to last pick up out of five, who ever day says, "I want to be first today".

WHAT?! That is blatant exclusion of their own child! That's nuts!

Why are they there so long? Do the parents work that long? Are they good parents or inexperienced ones?

I mean maybe they have a reason for needing to leave their kids at daycare for so many hours. I guess what I'm saying is we really don't know why some parents leave their kids at daycare for so long, why some cant say no or why some are over bearing helicopter types and some just rub us the wrong way but unless they are outright neglecting or abusing their kids, I try to do right by my daycare children and not judge their parents.
Just like when a divorced parent talks badly about their ex.,.. Even if the words aren't spoken in front of the child, they still sense it. I don't ever want my daycare children to sense that I dont like their parent so I try hard to believe they are all doing what they believe is best for them and their personal situation and if that is what works for their family for whatever reason then I am glad for them even if the choices they make aren't the one I would make.
