    How Do You Word This, FT Over PT

    I am updating my policies and want to add that FT takes priority over PT. This is what I want to get across but it isn't coming out right:

    Full time spots take priority over part time spots. If an opportunity to fill your part time spot with a full time child becomes available, I will first offer you the full time spot. If you do not wish to take the full time spot I will fill the spot with the interested client and it will be necessary for you to find other child care arrangements.

    This is a business and as a business, my goal is to earn a regular income. In order to do this I must maximize use of the limited number of spaces I am allowed by licensing.

    Therefore ALL families must understand that full time enrollment will take priority in scheduling over part time and/or drop in clients.

    Part time families will need to keep in mind that should a full time inquiry come in, the part time family will be offered the full time space first. If the part time family does not wish to enroll on a full time basis the space will be given to the full time family.

    Two weeks notice per contract agreement will be given to the part time family.

      My handbook actually says;

      Priority for available space is given first to currently enrolled families. However, having priority does not guarantee that space is always available when needed.

      As a business, it is my goal to have as many of my spaces filled with full time children as possible however, every effort will be made to accommodate part-time and/or drop-in children.

      Unfortunately since space is limited, having a reliable back up provider or alternate care arrangements is required.

      When I get to that part during the interview, I discuss with them my policy of offering part timers the space but giving it to a full time family if they don't want to use it.
