    Gonna Be a Long Week...

Started a new 22 mo. old this morning - she is a mile-a-minute! I've already had to stop her from digging in my purse (it was hanging on a closet door handle), getting into the coat closet, playing in the toilet, climbing the kitchen chairs, jumping on the couch, trying to climb the play kitchen, and digging in our craft shelf. It's going to be a long week getting her used to our boundaries/schedule.

I really dislike new starts! Not the child themselves, just the whole getting in routine

I hear you! Have a 21mo boy starting next week. It appears he has had very few boundaries in his life. It will be a challenging week, I'm sure.

This little girl is incredibly challenging! She climbed everything, kept walking in on kids going to the bathroom, had difficulties transitioning from one activity to another, and on top of all that I had to send her home with a 101 fever after nap! What a great first day.

Oh my. Is this her first time in daycare? Toddlers can be into everything but yeh, the way a new child can change the whole dynamics of any group, it's unbelievable. Hope your week gets smoother!!

I'm having the opposite issue with my new dcg. She's also the same age. He daycare she came from had I'm not sure how many kids in a room with like this huge fence down the middle. So all day long she was stuck in this area only 10x10. Not even sure how that's legal but apparently it is. It was a center.

Now this is this girls third week and she finally will play. The first few weeks she just stood there like she wasn't sure why she was allowed free reign rough out most of my house.

The parents say they've never seen her so happy.

Apparently the parents thought that small area was just one of several different center or play areas and later found out they were in there all day and under supervised at that.

She has, but not for a few months.

The new DCG was taken to the Dr. after leaving here with a fever and tested positive for strep. What a first day!

                      Come on Friday!

Can't wait for Friday. My new little guy that started yesterday sounds just like you described. It takes so long to adjust to a new place, but I think he'll settle in fine eventually. Sweet as pie.

                      Hope your week goes quickly!
