Ah yes. Large locking gun cabinet for the firearms and that is in a closet in a room in the house not used by the daycare children. The ammo and all of our bows/arrows are in a detached garage not used by daycare children. The ammo is locked in a craftsman toolbox drawer out there in that garage.

We have a locking closet for the guns, ammo is stored in a separate (locked) box. We use (and were approved for) a hard plastic tool box with a place to put a padlock. Guns and ammo locked in same closet, but ammo is also locked in it's own box.

          i hate guns....but compromised w/DH this year

he has a locking gun case in a closet with a lock at the top of the door...each lock has a different key. ammo is in the gun case in its seperate locked case....basically , if we had an intruder and needed a gun we'd be SOL cuz theres like 4 diff. keys to get to a gun :: oh and the guns have safety locks too ::

Dh has a locking gun cabinet in the basement away from any daycare access. The ammo locks in the bottom cabinet and the guns lock in the top of the cabinet.

well i dont think of our guns as for a intruder they are for hunting and they are up way high and the closet door has a keyed lock. need to find a locking box before my inspection for the ammo. it is in the closet right now locked but not in someting that locks it seperatly

We have two separate gun safes with combination locks (those really expensive, heavy jobs that had to be installed professionally) in the basement storage area, completely away from the daycare area. The guns, disassembled, are kept in one safe, with any ammo stored in the other. It's state law here that we have to inform the parents, in writing, that there are guns on the premises and what we have done to keep them away from the children.

We don't use our basement for daycare at all, but if we did, I would have stored these in our detached garage.

My fiance owns a gun that has a gun lock on it. Not sure where he got it or how much he paid for that as he had it before I ever moved in but he bought a small safe that is stored in his master bedroom closet to lock the ammo in. In CA the gun and ammo has to be locked and kept in seperate locations so the gun lock on the gun itself and keeping it in the same closet as the small safe with the ammo in it works for them. He bought the small safe on Amazon for about $200.
