Things I used to but don't do anymore

Continue working for parents I didn't like
    Take SA kids
    Work weekends
    Work for friends
Put up with pick up/drop off misbehavior
Have a lengthy contract (the more they read, the less they seem to get )
Try to accommodate everyone's needs before my own

    I think that's it!

That sounds so tempting! I'm thinking when this group is done, I might do that too!happyface

        When I first started:
Allowed payments after care was provided and parents only paid if the child came.
        Allowed food from home.
        Let parents pay late.
        Allowed rotating schedules

        Now:
Payments are made before care. No exceptions.
Payment is based on enrollment not attendance.
        No food from home.
No late payments, very strict "no pay, no stay" policy
Schedules must be set days, or you pay for a full time spot regardless of how many days you need.

Then: I'd accommodate special requests to be as flexible as possible, frequently regretting it as soon as the "yes" came out of my mouth.

Now: Use the phrase "let me think about it and get back to you".

            Game changer for me
