    Terminating

I have decided to terminate the family I had so many problems with paying in full and on time. Of course, last friday afternoon with this weeks payment they told me this week was their vacation week, (going on a cruise) because they already had their free week she says they are having a friend drop off payment on friday to cover the next week. I had originally planned on giving them notice on this friday. But they are gone. I will be giving them notice on next Monday at drop off. My contract says "there is a 2 week termination period for this contract and advance written notice is required. "
so Monday I am handing her my blanket form, with the termination by provider checked, and in the details section I am simply listing "downsizing". Then dating the last day for care as dec 3, 2010. Im going to be honest with her, and tell her~~ At this time I am reducing the number of families in the childcare. I feel it is needed due to increased demands associated with the higher level of care I am offering. I hope you understand. ~~ and Im leaving it at that. If she asks why her family Im going to be honest and tell her that ~after reviewing everyones files and evaluating each family individually I feel that I made the right decision. If she questions further I will be totally honest,.. ~ your the only parent ever to pay late. Ever to be behind in fees, ever to be less than truthful about payments~ at which point she will probably be angry and take him right then,... trying to get out of paying me for my 2 weeks notice, but what she doesnt realize is that she has already paid for that time. Or she could bring him , either way I am going to term on next monday and leave it up to her as to where she goes from here.

Be sure and run to her bank on Friday and cash her check so that she doesn't get grumpy and stop payment on the check after you term on Monday....just saying.

Oops! I misunderstood. I thought that you meant that the friend was coming by this Friday with payment....you are smart to go to cash only with a family like that. I know that you will be so relieved come dec 4th! Good Luck on Monday
