How Much To Pay The Help?

I need to hire someone to help my 7dd with schoolwork.
I have 3 interviews lined up over the weekend, all teenagers, 15-16years old, which will be perfect for 7dd.
They will come for 1.5-2 hrs a day and just be with her, playing educational games and doing school work and reading.

Min wage here is 8+ and we just had a bill passed to raise it to 10+ soon.
The average daycare employee starts at 9 in centers.
I have no idea what professional tutors get paid.

I have hired a special ed teacher from my DD'S school to come once a week for $50. She works with my DD for an hour. I have looked into Huntington and Kumon and it would run me about the same but it would be twice a week. Hope that helps!

Tutors make a lot more than daycare workers. I would say if it's a teen who is just starting out vs someone with a few years of tutoring experience.... Probably $30

I was thinking maybe $20/day. Maybe as low as $15?

I can't see paying a 15 year old $30-$50/hr seeing as they wouldn't be "teaching" her but just encouraging her to do the work. I think I will ask them how much they want and go from there.

My 16 yr old dd wants to tutor ( mainly foreign languages) and she is happy with $15-$20 for a 1 - 1 1/2 hr session . Much cheaper than going to one of the tutoring schools .

this is a teenager helping out, not an educated/experienced tutor. I think $15 or $20 per session is fine.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards $20 then. I could always say it's $15 and after I see how it goes I'll up it to $20

Just an update in case any one was curious.
I hired a 16 year old today @ $10/hr.
I asked her what she wanted to be paid and she said I don't know. So I asked her if 10 was ok and she seemed really happy with it.
I remember being that age and being too shy to speak up. So I will keep an eye on her and give her a raise if things are going well.
