    When Your Child is Sick

Does anyone let their dcp know when your own child is sick .
Whether a regular cold or something contagious?

I let my parents know if my kids are vomiting , diarrhea or need antibiotics for something contagious .

depends on the age of the child. I have teens that can stay in their rooms and then one that is 6. But I do have assistants to help me so if he was sick I would just stay in his room with him. And NO, I would not tell the parents, unless it was something very serious.

I have always done it this way and to date it has never back fired.

I think it depends a lot on your setup. I have two young ones, 4 yrs and 18 mos, and have no assistants. So keeping them separate is impossible. Minor colds I don't say anything about. Fevers, less minor colds, I warn the parents ahead of time. Vomiting/stomach bugs I close for.
