    I Need to Stay Strong

I have three kids leaving this summer. I NEED to fill the opening. I can have 2 under two and I already have a 3 month old. Last night I interviewed a family with an almost 3 yr old and a 4 month old. It is very tempting to take them But then it will be almost two years before I have an under two opening.

Funny thing is I know they interviewed others that will not even consider the infant. So If I say yes to the infant I rank higher than the others.

I need to stay strong and say no I am sorry I would love to have the older child but could not take the infant until he is older. but to give up two kids ??? Hard to do.

I 100% know how you feel. I had decided a while back that I didn't want to take babies any longer. But I had a family that had 2, age 3 and 4 months so I caved, and said it would be my last baby. Well last week I had a call for a lady whose baby will be born in dec of this year and my next open spot will be in aug when my other lil one turns 18 month. So I set up an interview and once again here I am thinking about taking on another baby. Its hard to say no. When you know it will fill a spot but at the same time, Its alot of work. Good luck.

Infants are harder but I prefer taking children as infants because that usually fills a spot for five years until kindergarten....job security. We are allowed 4 under the age of 2. I have a group child care home and can keep 7 by myself or 12 with an assistant.

Stay strong itlw8!! You can do it! happyface

Currently I only accept infants born to currently enrolled families. I "might" consider an infant that comes with an older sibling but I can't say for sure...depends on whether or not I really needed to fill spaces or not.

Is the current 3 month old you have new? Are they full time?

I can see how turning away a family with 2 kids would be hard when you are looking for new clients... Ugh! I'd really have to weigh my options to know for sure if saying no is the right thing or not.

          Stay strong!

I will say it is impossible for me to turn down infants, as much work as it is getting them on schedule as the potential reward (5+ years of steady income) makes it worthwhile

Yes the other infant is new, second week. I am going to email them and say I am sorry It would not be fair to my preschoolers to have two infant. If they want to enroll the older child. I could fit the infant in when he is 1. I will send it today so I am not put on the spot if they call.

I'm all about the babies..., I can have 3 under 16 months & would fill my openings with an infant too for this same reason!

I used to say 1 years old as well but now I go by milestones and if a child can keep up and is younger than 1, I will take them. Must be walking, on a sippy cup and napping independently are my rules. Some 9 months old are there so yeah, I will take a younger one if they fit in!

My current 11 month old is the one exception I made. He is not even pulling up yet, barely started crawling this past week. But if I came across an older baby that was ahead on milestones, I would take another child under one year old.

I also love the babies but two that need so much care 3 and 4 months really would take away from the older kids activites especially in the summer. By the time the child is closer to 1 I could have gotten a couple of 20 month olds that turned 2 to build my program... crossing fingers I get them.

I can't tell you to stay strong because if I could, I'd keep ONLY babies .

Sorry I'm not more help haha....

Stay strong! Think of all the interrupted nap times & the fussy teething days!
